Kids explore a few of Carmen’s favorite sights using Google Earth.

Have kids analyze the physical features and cultural significance of these natural and human-made wonders.

Estimated Time: 10–15 minutes

Materials Needed: Computer with projector

  1. Go to www.google.com/earth
  2. Enter these latitude and longitude coordinates into the search field and press enter: 48 51 29 N 2 17 40 E
  3. Ask students to describe and analyze what they see. What physical features do they notice? What cultural features stand out? Zoom in, zoom out, and explore a little! Where is this place? (Answer: Paris, France)
  4. Select more coordinates and repeat!
